H-E-B opens largest eCommerce fulfillment center to date in Katy

The center, located at 2102 Elrod Road, Katy, TX 77449, stands at more than 100,000 square-feet and exists to support the chain’s growing presence in the region. The latest facility is the company’s seventh eCommerce fulfillment center to open since 2018. Meanwhile, H-E-B is eyeing more locations for its expansion across the state, according to the release.

This particular fulfillment center will work to stock goods in stores that go to customers through curbside pickup and support increased demand for online shopping with home delivery orders. H-E-B hopes the new center will allow for more store capacity and more products, boost store efficiency, and help with aisle congestion, according to the release.

“We’re excited to utilize this facility to support the Houston area, one of the largest markets for our company,” said H-E-B Group Vice President of eCommerce  Kedar Patel. “Across our business we are adopting innovative technologies that give our Partners the tools they need to provide great service and a top-quality shopping experience for our customers.”

In celebration of the achievement, H-E-B held a grand opening with a ceremonial ribbon cutting where they gave a $5,000 charitable donation to a nonprofit that provides temporary housing for families who have loved ones hospitalized or recovering from serious medical conditions, according to the release.
