Katalin Czukrasz, a Hungarian Revolution refugee, is celebrating her 106th birthday in Luzerne County; she is known for her style and Hungarian cooking!
DRUMS, Pa. — Newswatch 16 stopped by a special birthday party on Wednesday in Luzerne County.
Katalin Czukrasz is celebrating her 106th trip around the sun at Providence Place in Drums!
In 1955, Katalin and her husband, Zoltan, fled Hungary during the Hungarian Revolution and made their way to the United States.
They lived in California and New Jersey before settling in Pennsylvania.
Workers at Providence Place say Katalin is always impeccably dressed, her accessories match her outfits, and her nails are always done up!
Besides her great style, she is known for sewing her clothes and cooking traditional Hungarian meals.
