District officials didn’t specify the nature of the 911 report that prompted the police response, but they said “students and staff are safe.”

SAN ANTONIO — Officials with Harlandale ISD say Harlandale High School was placed on a lockdown Friday afternoon “as a precaution” while law enforcement responded to the south-side campus after a 911 report.

Few details have been provide. The nature of the 911 call isn’t known, nor is it clear when the lockdown began. As of 4 p.m., it was still in place.

“Students and staff are safe,” HISD officials told KENS 5. “The campus remains on lockdown as law enforcement continues to review the situation on site. We will continue to keep our families informed as additional information becomes available.”

Harlandale High School is located along East Gerald Avenue near Pleasanton Road.
