Hays County Sheriff’s deputy facing public intoxication charge

Deputy Victor Guajardo was off-duty when he was arrested in Kyle.

HAYS COUNTY, Texas — A deputy in Hays County is facing public intoxication charges after being arrested in Kyle while off-duty, officials say.

Hays County Sheriff’s Deputy Victor Guajardo was arrested by the Kyle Police Department on October 21 in the 100 block of Kennicott Drive in Kyle, Texas. 

Deputy Guajardo was charged with Public Intoxication, which is a Class C Misdemeanor.

Guajardo is assigned to the Patrol Division and was not working at the time of the incident.

The Hays County Sheriff’s Office will conduct an internal administrative investigation, running concurrently with the criminal investigation.

Deputy Guajardo has been placed on paid administrative leave pending the outcome of the internal investigation.
