SAPD released footage of a deadly shooting involving five officers last month.
SAN ANTONIO — The San Antonio Police Department has released bodycam footage of an officer involved shooting that took place last month.
Around 10:30 p.m. on Aug. 29, 2025, officers responded to the 800 block of Cherry Street after receiving reports of a man shooting a shotgun and pointing it at people in the area.
Upon arrival, SAPD says officers were able to establish a perimeter around the suspect’s home before he opened a side door and allegedly pointed the shotgun in the direction of the responding officers.
SAPD said five officers then opened fire, striking the suspect.
The suspect was identified as 41-year-old Jamie Gonzalez and SAPD said he died on the scene, but no officers or bystanders were injured during the incident.
Investigators said they found the shotgun Gonzalez was allegedly holding at the scene.

The five officers who shot and killed Gonzalez reportedly have five to seven years of service with the department. SAPD said the following officers will be place on administrative leave until “further notice”:
- Marco Trevino – 5 years of service
- Matthew Olivares – 5 years of service
- Steven Flores – 6 years of service
- Tyler Brown – 7 years of service
- Joseph Orozco – 7 years of service
SAPD’s Shooting Team and Internal Affairs will conduct separate but concurrent investigations as the District Attorney’s Office reviews the incident.
