Harris County authorities said the man was found hanging out of the donation box. First responders pulled him out, but he died a short time later.

HARRIS COUNTY, Texas — A man died early Wednesday morning after authorities said they found him stuck in a donation box in far northeast Harris County.

Around 1:30 a.m., Harris County Sheriff’s Office investigators said EMS was sent to a location on FM 2100 just off Highway 90 after getting reports of a man trapped in a donation box.

When they got there, they found the man with the upper half of his body stuck inside the box. They said the man was having breathing problems.

They got him out of the box and tried to save his life, but the man was pronounced dead at 1:42 a.m. It’s unclear how long the man had been stuck.

The incident is under investigation, and the forensic science department will determine the man’s cause of death.

His identity has not been revealed.
