Headed to the Alamo Bowl? Ride The Local for free on game day

Skip parking hassle and ride free to the Alamo Bowl! Enjoy stress-free travel from La Villita to Southtown with a new city initiative enhancing downtown access.

SAN ANTONIO — Going to the Alamo Bowl on Tuesday? City officials say you can skip the parking hassle and ride for free.

The Local will offer free rides from noon to 6 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 30, connecting La Villita Historic Arts Village and Southtown. The service is open to both visitors and locals, making it easier to get downtown with no parking problems, grab a bite to eat, and keep the game-day fun going with less stress.

The free rides are part of a Capital Delivery Department pilot program aimed at better connecting people to downtown restaurants, bars, and local shops.

City leaders say the goal is to make it easier — and more fun — to move around on busy event days.

Get your game on and ride local.
