Heavy rain created dangerous road conditions in the San Antonio area

Heavy rains caused widespread road closures in San Antonio due to flooding.

SAN ANTONIO — Dozens of roads and low water crossings are closed after heavy rain brought flooding conditions to the San Antonio area.

Showers and storms swept through South Texas Thursday morning, bringing damaging wind gusts and hail to the area. This comes after storms also hit the Alamo City early Wednesday morning, and parts of town saw between half an inch and eight-tenths of an inch of rain.

Also, several drivers became stuck in high water at Wetmore and Thousand Oaks on the northeast side. Viewer video shows the problems.
