BEXAR COUNTY, Texas — IMPACT DAYS: Thursday, Aug. 21 and Friday, Aug. 22

Reason: Heavy rain and localized flooding possible in areas of the San Antonio region.

The breakdown

There is a marginal risk for excessive rain for the end of the week, a weather development that could dampen the Alamo City amid the hottest time of the year.

A slow-moving front starting Wednesday will bring daily chances for storms with the potential for locally heavy rain over our area. Slow-moving storms and heavy downpours could lead to isolated flash flooding, so keep an eye on the forecast as well as possible road closures.

Highs will be near or slightly above average over the next couple of weeks, but heat index values should stay near 100 to 103 degrees, below Heat Advisory criteria.
