Help needed to grant holiday wishes for children in Texas foster care

More than 10,000 children involved with Texas foster care have holiday wishes, and the nonprofit Partnerships for Children needs donations and volunteers.

AUSTIN, Texas — As the holiday season approaches, there’s an opportunity to support children in Texas foster care. One of the largest efforts to bring Christmas wishes to life is gearing up, and a Texas nonprofit is in need of community support.

The annual holiday gift program -organized by Partnerships for Children- aims to collect, sort, wrap and distribute gifts to 10,000 children in need across the area who have submitted their holiday wishes.

Dates and how to get involved

The intensive phase of the program runs from Dec. 1 through Dec. 12. During this time, volunteers will be busy transforming a collection site into a workshop to ensure every child receives a special gift.

At this time, the greatest needs to support this effort are:

  • 🧑‍🤝‍🧑 Volunteers: Hands-on help is essential for collecting, sorting, wrapping and distributing the thousands of gifts. This is the most crucial need right now.

  • 💰 Monetary Donations: Financial contributions allow the organization to purchase items still needed to fulfill wish lists, especially for older children whose wishes may be more expensive or specific.

  • 🛒 Amazon Wishlist Items: You can purchase specific, high-need items directly from the nonprofit’s curated Amazon Wishlist, which are shipped straight to the distribution center. Click here to donate.
