ARLINGTON, Texas — As fans continue to talk about the shot heard around Texas in Game 5 of the American League Championship Series, the way a player celebrates a home run is still being debated.

The Houston Astros are one win away from clinching the pennant and heading back to the World Series after winning the pivotal Game 5, 5-4, in Arlington against in-state rivals the Texas Rangers.

Astros star Jose Altuve hit a clutch go-ahead three-run home run in the top of the ninth inning to give Houston the lead in the game. His home run came after a series of events that saw Rangers star Adolis García hit a three-run home run of his own in the bottom of the sixth inning to give Texas a 4-2 lead.

A bench-clearing confrontation took place during García’s next at-bat after he was hit with a 98 mph fastball from Astros pitcher Bryan Abreu. García immediately turned around and got in the face of Astros catcher Martín Maldonado — the two also jawed nose-to-nose when García touched home plate after his grand slam in Houston on July 26.

Following the game, the debate on social media has been about the different ways each star celebrated their home run as they rounded the bases.

Despite what fans think, Altuve told reporters in Spanish that he did not think the way the Rangers slugger celebrated the home run was disrespectful.
