AUSTIN, Texas — FEMA is still on the ground in Central Texas following the deadly floods that occurred over the Fourth of July weekend, and officials are ready to help at disaster recovery centers all around the area.
The agency has disaster recovery centers in Travis, Williamson and Burnet counties, where flood survivors who sustained damage to their homes or businesses can get help with applications for disaster loans.
People are asked to file insurance claims first. Then, if insurance doesn’t cover their losses, FEMA may be able to help.
Below are the locations and hours of the local recovery centers:
- Travis County: Round Mountain Baptist Church at 14500 Round Mountain Road in Leander. Open 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. daily until Friday, July 25
- Williamson County: Williamson County EMS North Campus in Classroom A & B at 3189 SE Inner Loop, Suite A in Georgetown. Open 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. daily
- Burnet County: Burnet Community Center at 401 E. Jackson St. in Burnet. Open 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. daily
People can get started by going to one of the recovery centers, or by applying for disaster relief at this link or calling the FEMA helpline at 1-800-621-3362.
Flood victims have until Sept. 4 to apply for FEMA disaster assistance.
