Here’s how you can recycle your live Christmas tree in San Antonio

Trees must not have any lights, stands, artificial snow, or other decoration and must be loose and unbagged.

SAN ANTONIO — Now that the Winter holidays are in the rear-view mirror, the city of San Antonio is offering free Christmas tree recycling in January for those with live trees. 

The free tree recycling will be offered at four locations throughout the city. Trees must not have any lights, stands, artificial snow, or other decoration and must be loose and unbagged. Smaller live trees may can also be put in the green organic carts during normal weekly collection. 

Take a look at the following locations for drop off below:

  • Culebra Road Drop-Off Center
    7030 Culebra Road
  • Tuesday – Friday, 8 a.m. – 5 p.m.
  • Saturday, 8 a.m. – 12 p.m.
  • Frio City Road Drop-Off Center
    1531 Frio City Road
  • Tuesday – Friday, 8 a.m. – 5 p.m.
  • Saturday, 8 a.m. – 12 p.m.
  • Rigsby Road Drop-Off Center
    2755 Rigsby Road
  • Tuesday – Friday, 8 a.m. – 5 p.m.
  • Saturday, 8 a.m. – 12 p.m.
  • Bitters Brush Recycling Center
    1800 Wurzbach Parkway
  • San Antonio, TX 78216
  • Monday – Saturday, 8 a.m. – 5 p.m.

Starting mid-January, resident can receive free mulch from the tree collection at the Bitters location.
