DALLAS — The Dallas Stars are moving on to the second round of the Stanley Cup Playoffs after a thrilling 4-2 Game 7 win over the Colorado Avalanche Saturday night. Now, you may be wondering: Who do the Stars play next?
Dallas will face the winner of Sunday night’s Game 7 between the Winnipeg Jets and the St. Louis Blues.
Because the Stars finished second in the Central Division, their next opponent—and whether Dallas has home-ice advantage—depends on Sunday’s outcome. If the top-seeded Jets win, Dallas will open the series on the road in Winnipeg. If the wild-card Blues pull off the upset, the Stars will host Game 1 at American Airlines Center.
The Stars are riding high after a stunning third-period comeback led by Mikko Rantanen, who recorded a natural hat trick to erase a 2-0 deficit. Goalie Jake Oettinger turned in another steady playoff performance, stopping 24 of 26 shots.
