The heavy downpours created problems for San Antonio drivers across the city, causing water to pool on the roads making it difficult to navigate.
SAN ANTONIO — Thunderstorms moved through San Antonio overnight causing low water crossings to overflow and making it difficult for drivers to navigate.
Over the last few hours, there have been more than a dozen incidents reported of drivers needing to be evacuated or rescued.
A large majority of the incidents are on the northeast side of town, between O’Connor Road and the merge at I-35 North at Loop 1604.
The flooding is also bad on Weidner Road, where you can see there is a car stuck in the water, and the driver had to leave their vehicle behind.
Barricades are set up in most areas with high water. We’re right beside them. Some drivers are just driving through looking at the water and then turning around.
Remember the best way to stay to safe is to “turn around, don’t drown.”
We will continue to update this story as we learn of more problems across San Antonio.
