BCSO deputies recovered 17 firearms—including four confirmed stolen—along with ghost guns, glock switches, a rifle suppressor and drug-related paraphernalia.
SAN ANTONIO — A narcotics investigation that began with a highway pursuit ended with the seizure of dozens of ounces of methamphetamine and multiple untraceable weapons, according to the Bexar County Sheriff’s Office.
BCSO said deputies executed a search warrant on Dec. 12 at a home in the 5600 block of Butch Canyon. During the operation, deputies attempted to stop a vehicle driven by Mikal Mireles.
Authorities said Mireles refused to stop, leading deputies on a pursuit that ended in a crash at State Highway 151 and Hunt Lane. Mireles then ran from the vehicle but was taken into custody a short time later.
Deputies said they recovered about eight ounces of methamphetamine from Mireles’ vehicle. A subsequent search of his home led to the seizure of an additional 32 ounces of methamphetamine, bringing the total to 40 ounces.
Investigators also recovered 17 firearms, including four confirmed stolen, along with ghost guns, Glock switches, a rifle suppressor, digital scales and narcotics packaging materials—according to the sheriff’s office.
Mireles was booked into the Bexar County Jail on charges of evading arrest or detention in a motor vehicle and manufacture or delivery of a controlled substance over 200 grams.
Deputies said additional firearm-related charges are pending. Mireles has since been released on bond.
