Hiker rescued by rope team at Enchanted Rock State Park Sunday

A rope team rescued an injured hiker at Enchanted Rock State Park, officials confirmed Sunday.

FREDERICKSBURG, Texas — A hiker suffering an injury at Enchanted Rock State Park was rescued by a rope team Sunday, officials said.

Fredericksburg Fire/EMS was called to Enchanted Rock Sunday for a man who had a traumatic injury, the department said. Fire personnel deployed a rope team to get to the hiker due to the rigid and high-angle terrain.

The patient was later successfully rescued by Star Flight and loaded into a helicopter, which flew the patient to a trauma facility. 

Star Flight, Willow City Fire and Texas park rangers all assisted in Fredericksburg Fire/EMS in the rescue.

Yesterday, Fredericksburg Fire/EMS was called to Enchanted Rock State Park for a male patient that had a traumatic injury. Due to the rigid and high angle terrain, fire personnel deployed a rope team to attempt to gain access to the patient. Patient was later successfully rescued by Star Flight and hoisted into the helicopter where patient was flown to a trauma facility. Thank you to everyone that assisted including Star Flight, Willow City Fire, and Park Rangers.
