Historic New Braunfels building transforms into new restaurant serving ‘elevated’ American classics

The restaurant is open Sunday through Thursday from 4 to 9 p.m. and Friday through Saturday from 4 to 10 p.m.

SAN ANTONIO — A new restaurant recently opened in downtown New Braunfels inside a building with nearly a century of history.

Old City Hall Restaurant & Bar welcomed diners this week in a restored 97-year-old building that once served as the city’s town hall, located at 200 N. Seguin Avenue.

The restaurant is the latest concept from Wiggins Hospitality Group, the team behind McAdoo’s Seafood Company and La Cosecha Mexican Table. The family-led group updated the historic structure while keeping much of its original charm. Reservations are available at OpenTable.

According to a press release, Old City Hall serves elevated American classics like their Texas Beef Tartare, Little Gem Caesar, Pigs in a Blanket, Tuna Tartare, Spicy Vodka Rigatoni, Peppercorn Filet Mignon, Steak Frites and The Mayor’s Cheeseburger. The restaurant also offers cocktails such as martinis, negronis and frozen gin and tonics.

Old City Hall seats about 200 guests, including private dining spaces and plans to offer a lunch selection in the near future. The eatery is open Sunday through Thursday from 4 to 9 p.m. and Friday through Saturday from 4 to 10 p.m.
