SAN ANTONIO — Holey Moley!
A miniature golf club is hosting a statewide competition they’re calling “the most prestigious mini-golf tournament in history,” and the winner will walk away with thousands of dollars.
The Holey Moley Open is a multi-day competition that will take place at all three Texas Holey Moley locations in San Antonio, Houston and Austin.
The event begins on March 25 with City Championships. Each team will play a round of 9 holes, with a maximum of +6 per hole. Scores will be kept by an official caddy. Penalties will be dealt for off-course balls, interference, and in the event of a tiebreaker, one team member will play an extra hole. The team with the lowest combined score wins.
The winning teams at City Championship will be offered travel accommodations to advance and compete at the next stage, the State Final on April 8 in Austin.
The cash prize for winning the Holey Moley Open is $10,000.
Holey Moley does encourage costumes during the competition and will have DJs, confetti showers along with food and drink specials during the event.
Registration begins February 25 and ends March 10 for teams of four. Registration is free. Players must be at least 21 years old to participate. Holey Moley will select the 60 best teams to compete across the state.
Holey Moley opened its first Texas location in Austin in March of 2024 followed by Houston in April. The San Antonio location opened in December.
