SAN ANTONIO — After a packed few daysof news in San Antonio, these are the stories that drew the most clicks on KENS5.com for the week of Nov. 17, 2025.
5. New downtown ‘Library Cocktail Lounge’ opens near the Alamo
A new concept combining cocktails and books is now open along North Presa Street, just two blocks from the Alamo. The Library Cocktail Lounge, which debuted this fall, sits next door to the newly opened Riot Comedy Club.

4. Community rallies for San Antonio teen with terminal cancer
A San Antonio teen, Dariella Foster, and her twin sister celebrated a joint quinceañera last weekend thanks to an outpouring of community support.
Their mother had reached out to neighbors hoping to borrow two dresses for photos; instead, she received an overwhelming response from across the city, helping the family create a celebration to remember.
“We try to keep our spirits up, but deep down inside its heavy on my chest,” said Damaris Gonzalez, the twins’ mother. “With all this positivity coming from everybody, it’s helping me cope right now.”
3. Woman pepper sprays passengers on River Walk boat cruise
San Antonio police are investigating a bizarre incident along the River Walk after a woman allegedly pepper-sprayed multiple passengers. According to SAPD, the confrontation began when the boat operator asked her to lower the volume on her cellphone.
A nearby gift shop employee told KENS 5 she had never seen anything like it on the River Walk.
“You don’t really expect any of that to happen. You just like to have a good time with your family… not really get attacked,” she said.
As of Friday afternoon, police were still searching for the woman seen in video of the incident. Anyone with information is asked to contact SAPD.
2. Botanical Garden lights up the holidays with ‘Illuminate’
The San Antonio Botanical Garden kicked off the holiday season with the return of “Illuminate,” a glowing spectacle of lighted trails and large-scale sculptures.
Visitors can explore bright displays designed to turn night into day throughout the gardens. Adult tickets start at $23 and prices for children start at $18. Infants under the age of two can enter for free.
1. More than 150 detained in major multi-agency raid on San Pedro
The most-clicked story of the week centered on a large law enforcement operation near San Pedro Avenue and Basse Road last Sunday.
Fourteen agencies, including the FBI and ICE, participated in the operation that officials said sought to disrupt the Tren de Aragua criminal network.
Officials say at least 150 people were detained, many of them allegedly in the country illegally. But aside from some individuals charged with illegal re-entry and a handful of alleged Tren de Aragua members, there is little information about the names and conditions of more than 100 others.
New records obtained by KENS 5 reveal it was the result of a state investigation into one suspected drug dealer at the location.
Surveillance video from a nearby food truck showed customers seated at picnic tables as agents moved in. The owner said officers broke the handle of her food truck while searching the area and later used an umbrella to damage her surveillance camera.
“We wanted people to see we are totally unaffiliated with what happened,” the food truck operator said. “We were closed. The people were in the building behind us, not our trailer.”
All three food trucks in the area have since relocated. The owner of Las Pollitas Snacks y Tacos, Genesis Valadez, reported losing several days of business, but plans to reopen at 711 Hildebrand.
