Hoping for Happy Days ahead for Pinky Tuscadero, terrier mix found walking along Kerrville creek | Forgotten Friends

She does have a microchip, but her owner never came to pick her up from the shelter.

KERRVILLE, Texas — Our “Forgotten Friends” series showcases a dog or cat each week that has spent a lengthy time at an area shelter, just waiting for someone to notice them and bring them home to love.

This week’s Forgotten Friend is a 5-year-old terrier mix named Pinky Tuscadero, who was found wandering around near a Kerrville creek as a stray about 45 days ago. She was then brought to Kerr County Animal Services. Kerrville Pets Alive! tells us that animals face possible euthanasia at 60 days in the shelter, because they just don’t have the room to keep them all.

“Pinky is microchipped and does have an owner, but they never picked her up from the shelter,” said Karen Guerriero.

Pinky gets along really well with other dogs but probably should homes with cats due to her high energy level.

“Pinky loves to fetch her toy so she needs someone who is willing to sit, stand and throw it for her,” said Karen. “She likes to nuzzle her head between your knees and drop her toy below. That’s your signal to throw. It is hilarious.”

She craves tender loving care and adores being petted.

“She is super affectionate and aims to please,” said Karen.

“Pinky is at Kerr County Animal Control, a shelter that must euthanize when space runs out,” said Karen. “Her time is limited unless she can find a loving home. Because of that, KPA! will sponsor Pinky’s full adoption.”

Pinky Tuscadero is spayed, up to date on all of her vaccines and heartworm negative. She is totally ready for her new home!

If you would like to add Pinky to your family, contact Kerrville Pets Alive! at info@kerrvillepetsalive.org. And again, her adoption fee will be taken care of by KPA because her time is running out! In fact, they will take care of the fee for any animal you adopt right now from Kerr County Animal Services.

KPA! has a dog adoption event this Saturday, May 3, between 11 a.m. and 2:30 p.m., 2102 Memorial Blvd. in Kerrville. It’s your chance to meet Pinky in person!
