Houston-area singer D4vd cancels concerts amid girl’s death investigation

LOS ANGELES — Houston-area singer D4vd (pronounced “David”) has canceled tour stops in more than a dozen cities through November 4 as he cooperates with police in a death investigation. Tickets remain on sale for four December concerts in Australia.

The 20-year-old musician, whose real name is David Anthony Burke, cancelled at least 15 tour stops as authorities investigate the death of 15-year-old Celeste Rivas Hernandez, whose body was discovered in the trunk of a Tesla belonging to the singer, investigators said.

The canceled shows span through early November, though the artist has kept his December Australian tour dates active with tickets still available for purchase.

The ticket website for the concert in Amsterdam read that “The d4vd concert at Paradiso is canceled due to unforeseen circumstances. Refunds will be issued at point of purchase.” No other reason for the cancellations was shared.

The tour disruptions come as the investigation continues to unfold around the young performer.

Rivas Hernandez had been missing since April 2024 from Lake Elsinore, California, according to TMZ and other media outlets. Investigators say her body was found last week in the singer’s vehicle, prompting authorities to search D4vd’s Hollywood Hills home in connection to the case.

Multiple Los Angeles news outlets reported that the home search occurred hours after the teenager’s body was discovered. Officials have confirmed that D4vd is cooperating with the police investigation, and the teenager’s cause of death remains under investigation.

The case has significantly impacted the rising artist’s career momentum, forcing him to pull out of more than a dozen scheduled performances while the investigation proceeds.
