HOUSTON — An action-packed weekend of baseball is coming to Minute Maid Park in February with the 2024 Cactus Jack HBCU Classic.
There will be nine games over three days in a round-robin format from Friday, February 16 through Sunday, February 18.

- Alcorn State vs. Southern
- Game 2 – 3 p.m.
- Jackson State vs. Texas Southern
- Game 3 – 7 p.m.
- Prairie View A&M vs. Grambling State
- Game 1 – 11 a.m.
- Day 2
- Game 1 – 11 a.m.
- Jackson State vs. Alcorn State
- Game 2 – 3 p.m.
- Grambling State vs. Southern
- Game 3 – 7 p.m.
- Texas Southern vs. Prairie View A&M
- Game 1 – 11 a.m.
- Day 3
- Game 1 – 11 a.m.
- Grambling State vs. Jackson State
- Game 2 – 3 p.m.
- Alcorn State vs. Praire View A&M
- Game 3 – 7 p.m.
- Southern vs. Texas Southern

Tickets can be purchased for each day or as a three-day package on the Astros’ website. You can also purchase parking online.

Other events surrounding the tournament include a college fair – which you must register for in advance – an HBCU Classic ‘Old School’ Party, a gospel breakfast and more.
Cactus Jack Foundation HBCU Celebrity Softball Classic
The day before the tournament kicks off is the Travis Scott’s Cactus Jack Foundation HBCU Celebrity Softball Classic, “featuring Cactus Jack himself and his celebrity friends,” according to the Astros.
Proceeds for the celebrity game on February 15 go toward the Waymon Webster Scholarship Fund, the Cactus Jack Foundation and Project H.E.A.L initiative, the event’s website says.
Gates open at 5:30 p.m. and there will be a home run derby at 7 p.m. before the game starts at 7:30 p.m.
