HOUSTON — A man is recovering in a hospital after he was shot during a road rage incident Friday night, Houston police say.
The shooting happened shortly before midnight on the entrance ramp to I-45 at North Main.
The Houston Police Department said a driver had gotten upset that the car in front of him wasn’t driving fast enough, so he got out of his vehicle and started arguing with the other driver. The argument escalated and HPD said the man started beating on the other driver’s car.
That’s when police said the other driver shot the man once.
Arriving officers attempted first aid on the man, who was taken to a hospital by the Houston Fire Department. He is expected to be OK.
Police said the shooter has been cooperative with the investigation.
“Has a concealed handgun license and, you know, did give the, give that person a warning as well,” said Lt. Khan with HPD. “According to him, he feels that he was defending himself and his vehicle.”
At last check, no charges have been filed in this case.
