Brandon Williams, 39, faces up to 99 years in prison if convicted.
AUSTIN, Texas — A Houston man is facing charges after being arrested on a prostitution-related charge in Round Rock earlier this week.
According to the Round Rock Police Department, officers arrested 39-year-old Brandon Williams after receiving a call reporting possible human trafficking at a residence in the southeast area of the city.
The caller told police that a woman was being held against her will and forced to engage in sex acts.
Police arrived and located Williams and two women in their 20’s who were also from Houston. One of the women told police that Williams had taken them from Houston to Round Rock to engage in prostitution and was preventing them from leaving. During the arrest, officers also found that Williams was in possession of a handgun.
Williams is facing a charge of compelling prostitution, a first-degree felony. Police say compelling prostitution occurs when a suspect knowingly causes someone to engage in prostitution through force, threat, coercion or fraud.
Williams faces up to 99 years in prison if convicted.
