How to get a free ice cream cone at Dairy Queen

Dairy Queen celebrates spring with Free Cone Day, offering free vanilla cones at participating non-mall locations.

DENVER — Dairy Queen will celebrate the first day of spring with free ice cream.

The soft serve ice cream chain announced the return of its popular “Free Cone Day” on Thursday, March 19.

The ice cream chain said anyone can get one free small vanilla soft-serve cone complete with a curl on top — limit one per person, while supplies last — at participating non-mall Dairy Queen locations nationwide.

No coupon is necessary and Free Cone Day will last all day long.

Dairy Queen also said that through Thursday, March 19, customers can download the DQ App and sign up for DQ Rewards to enter for a chance to win Free Cones for a Year.

The first day of spring is Friday, March 20, at 8:46 a.m. MT.

“Free Cone Day is all about celebrating the simple joys – warmer weather, a classic vanilla cone and the happiness that comes from sharing a smile,” said Maria Hokanson, Executive Vice President of Marketing at ADQ. “There’s something truly special about seeing people light up over a free cone, and this year, we’re excited to give away more cones and create more happy moments for our fans than ever before.”
