Tickets are being sold through a draw system, with more opportunities expected ahead of the 2028 Games in Los Angeles.
WASHINGTON — The Olympic Games are heading back to the United States in 2028, bringing some of the world’s biggest events — from track and field to gymnastics and swimming — to Los Angeles.
With excitement building, fans eager to see the action in person may be wondering how to actually get tickets to the Games.
Here’s what to know.
How to get tickets to the 2028 LA Olympics
Tickets for the 2028 Olympic Games are being released in phases through a draw-based system, rather than a traditional first-come, first-served sale.
The first public sale, known as “Drop 1,” runs from April 9 through April 19, for fans who were selected through the LA28 Ticket Draw. That system required fans to register in advance to be randomly assigned a time slot to purchase tickets.
Registration for the first draw closed in March, and not everyone who signed up received a slot. However, organizers say more ticket drops will happen later this year, with additional registration windows opening ahead of each round.
During their assigned window, fans can purchase up to 12 tickets across Olympic events, with limits on high-demand ceremonies. Ticket prices start at $28, though some premium events can cost significantly more.
If you missed the first draw, you’ll have more chances, either by registering for future ticket drops or through a verified resale program launching in 2027. Organizers recommend signing up for updates at LA28’s website to stay informed about upcoming opportunities.
What about the Paralympics?
Tickets for the 2028 Paralympic Games will be released separately, with sales expected to begin in 2027.
Like the Olympics, Paralympic tickets will also be available through official platforms, with additional options through verified resale partners closer to the Games.
