Humane Society of Central Texas raising money through Woofstock music festival

Organizers say the celebration will feature live music, art displays, activities and more all to raise money for the Humane Society’s programs.

WACO, Texas — This June, a new music festival is coming to Waco, the first annual Woofstock.

Hosted at the Backyard Bar Stage and Grill, the event will be a “celebration of the unbreakable bond between humans and animals” as it raises money for the Humane Society of Central Texas through a music-filled evening.

According to organizers, Woofstock will hit the stage from 4 p.m. to 11:30 p.m. on Saturday, June 21, featuring a lineup of musicians like Jon Muq, Sundae Drivers, The Bottomless and more, offering a variety of genres including rock, country, R&B and “everything in between.”

Music is not the only attraction however. The event will also reportedly feature interactive art displays, laid-back activities and “moments designed to bring the community together.”

Attendees can even take the stage themselves during the event’s Air Guitar Contest and shred for a chance to win a $500 cash prize!

Organizers say Woofstock is about “creating real change for pets and the people who love them.” Each ticket sold will reportedly help fund the Humane Society of Central Texas’ programs, including veterinary care, food and supplies for animals in foster care, crisis support for families and resources that prevent pets from entering overcrowded shelters.

Woofstock is open to attendees 16 and up, according to the event’s page. Tickets can be purchased at the event’s Eventbrite page at this link.

“Join us to celebrate the joy, love and unity animals bring into our lives—because when we come together for them, we build a stronger, more compassionate community for all,” said Destination Waco.
