32-year-old Mario Porras, husband of Ashley Pardo, was arrested for child endangerment in May after claims of abuse surfaced.
SAN ANTONIO — The husband of Ashley Pardo, the woman accused of buying her teenage son tactical gear and ammunition as he allegedly planned in an attack, was arrested in May for endangering a child.
32-year-old Mario Porras was arrested on May 14 and was released four days later. According to Bexar County records, he has been married to Ashley Porras since November 2018.
On April 25, police made contact to the 13-year-old victim. The boy is known to be a victim of assault in the past from Porras by police, according to the arrest affidavit.
The victim told police that Porras was known to carry a pistol, and on multiple occasions he had taken the weapon out and placed it on the table next to the victim.
The victim also said that Porras came into his room one night and pointed the weapon at the teen before putting it back in the holster, not saying anything.
According to the affidavit, the victim is scared of Porras and has suffered mental health issues from the alleged abuse. He said that Porras has thrown him around, slapped and punched him in the past. He said this started when he was six years old and has continued up until early April 2025.
The abuse led to the victim attempting to take his own life on April 10, requiring about 100 sutures to close the cut.
The affidavit doesn’t say how Porras and the victim are related.
His wife Ashley Pardo is also back in the news as she was recently rearrested for an incident from two years ago.

While executing a search warrant on her phone, an investigator with the San Antonio Police Department discovered images from the afternoon of March 3, 2023, showing Pardo pointing a shotgun at a then-11-month-old baby girl, according to an arrest affidavit. She then texted the photo to the girl’s biological father, telling him “the victim was being a brat.”
According to the affidavit, the baby is seen in the photo “kneeling on a bed on top of multiple blankets with a hand outstretched reaching towards a black shotgun the Defendant is holding, pointing at the victim’s head.” Pardo is recognized through the “multiple distinctive tattoos” on the arm seen in the image, records state, and her finger appeared to be on the trigger guard.
