I-37 on the south side closed due to accident involving tractor-trailer

The southbound lanes of I-37 closed at Highway 97 due to an accident Wednesday. Officials say the closure could last until 5 p.m.

SAN ANTONIO — Officials say southbound I-37 at Highway 97 on the south side of San Antonio is closed due to an accident involving a tractor-trailer Wednesday morning.

The closure was reported around 10:30 a.m. at mile maker 114 along I-37. Traffic is being diverted to FM 3006 until lanes are reopened.

Officials with the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) say it could take several hours to investigate and clear the crash. There have been no reports yet of whether anyone is injured.
