‘I am going through a lot’ | Mother desperately seeks answers in son’s disappearance

The mother of Oscar Pacheco says her heart can’t take losing another child.

SAN ANTONIO — A San Antonio mother is desperate to find her son who has been missing for nearly two months.

SAPD says Oscar Pacheco is considered endangered and has a diagnosed medical condition.

His mother, Magdalena Valdez, fears something bad has happened.

“I am worried, a lot.” Valdez said. “I hardly sleep. I am so desperate I can’t even sleep.”

The last time she heard from her son Oscar was in late June. She said he left her a note, which he typically did from time to time.

“He left me a note under the door just saying he was okay,” she said. “But, he was robbed. He said ‘I was robbed again, so I am going to the hospital.'”

Valdez said she has called the hospitals and the jail and there is still no sign of him.

“I am worried they did something to my son,” the mom said. “He always comes over and lets me know how he is doing.”

She said this is not normal and is worried because her son needs his medicine he takes for mental health issues.

“He never misses contact with me,” Valdez said. “He is always calling me or visiting me.”

Valdez already knows what it is like to lose a child. Last year, her other son died from health issues. Five years ago, her daughter Norma Pacheco was killed.

“It was horrible what they did to her,” she said. “They killed her and they burned her. It was very hard for me.”

To this day, no one has been arrested in her case.

“I am going through a lot,” she said. “I have been stressed, depressed.”

Valdez said her heart can’t take losing another child.

“I have faith in God,” she said. “Only thing I ask God is that nothing happened to him, nothing bad. So I am going to be more hurt than ever.”

Pacheco has tattoos on his stomach, arms, chest and face. He is also right handed and stands around 5’4″ tall.

Anyone with information regarding his whereabouts is urged to call the SAPD Missing Person’s Unit at 210-207-7660.
