Cheryl Narvaez lost her son in October after he was involved in a hit-and-run accident and police are still searching for the driver responsible.
SAN ANTONIO — A San Antonio mother is desperate for answers in her son’s death. SAPD says Josh Villa Jr. was killed in a hit-and-run. Police are still looking for the driver responsible who they said took off.
The teen’s mother Cheryl Narvaez is heartbroken while she is planning for son’s funeral.
“I just feel empty to a point where, I am just lost,” she said.
Police said this happened on Oct. 30th. Narvaez said that evening her son went for a walk and never came back home.
“I just feel like a part of my heart is gone,” the mom said.
She said her son left his phone behind. She recalls as the hours went by she was getting worried. The next day, she said she got a knock at the door.
“With three detectives and I opened the door,” she said. “And I said no. I opened my door. And I said please no.”
San Antonio Police said an unknown vehicle failed to drive within a single lane and hit the 15-year-old. Her son didn’t stand a chance, and died at the scene.
“I know he didn’t deserve this,” she said. “He was a good kid. How can they be so cruel? They just left him there like if he was an animal thrown there on the side of the highway or access road.”
Narvaez said the family is taking the loss very hard. She said they are doing everything they can to raise money for his funeral. Even the teen’s school raised money for the family.
“It is just unbelievable,” Narvaez said. “I can’t describe how I feel.”
SAPD says there is still no arrest in the case, and say this is still an active investigation.
If you know anything, call police.
