Prescott wants nothing short of a Super Bowl Sunday appearance this season.
OXNARD, California — Dak Prescott is many things these days for the Dallas Cowboys!
He’s the highest paid NFL quarterback in the league at $60 million per season. He’ll turn 32 years old next week. (Happy early birthday, Dak!). And he’s coming off an injury season last year.
Thursday he was on the media mic in Oxnard, California and sounded as laser focused for this season as he has been for any new season.
“If you don’t want to win a Super Bowl or don’t think we can win the Super Bowl then don’t come to Oxnard,” said Prescott. “I feel good. I feel healthy and it has been a long road to it.”
Prescott’s injury occurred in season last year and he said to be where he is now is amazing blessing.
“Just to be out there on the field and feel healthy,” he said. “Lots of work has gone into that.”
Prescott gave off the tone of being thankful for where he’s at this point of his career.
“It is something I think about every time I step on the field being thankful for,” he said. “Being thankful for this moment and staying where my feet are and not taking anything I do for granted. It is about working and honestly working without having that injury in my mind.”
Dak reiterated during his Thursday media session that he is, in his own words, “super super thankful” and that he doesn’t take any moment of it lightly.
“I’m happy to be where I am and as I continue to tell people I’m just going to be where my feet are,” Prescott said. “Understanding that I’ve got to continue to push. It is one thing to be healthy, but how much better can I get now that I am healthy. That’s on the forefront of my mind and, yah, it feels good.”
Prescott told the assembled media that he is confident with who he is on the field and that’s the list he’s worried about, and not any predetermined media QB top ten list in the league.
“Winning, winning, winning and obviously if we give everything we can and go at it there are lots of good things and pats on the back I guess you could say on the way to attempting that,” he said. “That’s what is on my mind. I’m ten in and ready to play another ten, but I want that (the Super Bowl) first and foremost right now.”
