LOS ANGELES — The former Spur Boban Marjanovićic becomes a fan favorite once again after he intentionally missed back-to-back free throws to win Clippers fans a free chicken sandwich from Chick-fil-A.
The Los Angeles Clippers have a promotion with Chick-fil-A that gives fans a free chicken sandwich if an opponent misses consecutive free throws.
In the final game of the regular season, the Houston Rockets traveled to LA to take on the Clippers. With four minutes left, in only an eight point game, Rockets forward Marjanovićic went to the line to try and extend the lead, or so everyone thought.
After missing the first one, the crowd in Crypto.com arena can be heard letting Marjanovićic in on the promotion and he points to the fans saying: “You want chicken? I got you!”
Rightfully so, the crowd absolutely erupted as the broadcasters yelled, “HE GAVE THEM CHICKEN, HE’S A MAN OF THE PEOPLE!”
Marjanovićic ended the game with 12 points, 8 rebounds and about 20,000 new fans.
