Police say the 28 year-old suspect and the 37 year-old victim were ex-lovers.
Police say a woman is in custody, accused of shooting and killing a man that she had a past relationship with.
Now police are trying to figure out if the shooting was justified.
The video shows the 28 year-old suspect confronting who police say was an ex-boyfriend. In the video, you can hear the woman say she has a protective order against him.
The two continue to argue and the woman keeps yelling at her ex-boyfriend, asking him to leave.
Then in the final confrontation, the woman and an unknow man are trying to use the elevator while she is still asking her ex-boyfriend to leave.
Then as the ex-boyfriend comes into video, this is where we stopped the video, but the video goes on to show at least two shots fired towards the victim.
The suspect then runs after the victim with the gun in her hand.
This all happened at the Laurel Glen Apartment Complex, on the northwest side, just before 1 p.m.
When police arrived they say they found the victim in the hallway, EMS began treating him.
“10-4, were currently doing CPR, 3 confirmed to the chest area,” Source: Broadcastify.
Police say the 37-year-old victim died from his injuries.
“To our understanding, they were both in a relationship for one time in the past, but that relationship no longer was in a fact or no longer existed. It appears that he continued to pursue it, and the other party, she ended up uh taking action,” said Sgt. Steven Bratina, SAPD.
Now police are left trying to sort out if the woman was justified in shooting the victim.
“We have detectives talking to her at this point, and they’re going to determine that,” said Sgt. Bratina.
At last check the victim, has not be identified.
Police say the woman has been detained and is possibly facing criminal charges, pending the outcome of their investigation.
