Juan Manuel Herrera said someone stole his truck Monday.
SAN ANTONIO — A family overwhelmed by burglaries and the suspects were caught on camera in their latest act.
Someone who seen walking onto private property Monday on Allende drive was caught stealing the homeowner’s car.
Juan Manuel Herrera said he invested a lot into this truck and he doesn’t know who did this, but he might have to come out of retirement to afford another vehicle for his family.
“Monday morning my niece was going to work at 2:30 in the morning and she noticed the truck wasn’t there,” Herrera said.
A police report says three suspects walked near his home and quickly drove off after stealing his truck.
Security footage from their home shows one man walking on their property stealing his silver Ford F-150.
Their other car was stolen in November prompting Hererra’s family to install security cameras as a Christmas gift to catch thieves like these.
“We went on vacation me and my wife…it wasn’t there…we thought they had taken it.”
Herrera planned to have his mechanic pick up the car but instead according to a police report someone else did. They were arrested after a chase with police.
Herrera found his car totaled after authorities said they’d located it in a tow yard.
“Usually nothing happens like that but it just happened to me.”
His family is now left with one working car to get grandkids to school and others to work, now they’re in need of a vehicle.
“That’s why I paid it off with my 401k to get rid of the payment…it’s not going to be easy…I might even have to go to work because I’m retired.”
But he hasn’t lost hope.
“If somebody sees something say something…if they see my truck somewhere…Ford F-150…call SAPD.”
