‘I need help…call 9-1-1’ | Woman stabbed multiple times above BBQ restaurant on northwest side of San Antonio

New video shows a man with bloody hands near the scene.

SAN ANTONIO — A woman stabbed multiple times early Wednesday morning was sent to the hospital in critical condition.

That attack happed in an apartment at the 2600 block of Vance Jackson above a restaurant on the northwest side.

Just two minutes after that woman was stabbed, a man was seen on a ring camera a block away with bloody hands

“He had blood on his hands so I grabbed my gun,” the homeowner who wishes to remain anonymous said. “When he heard me cock it that’s when he backed up.”

The man on the ring camera can be heard saying “I need help” and “Please call 9-1-1.” Soon after, the homeowner called police.

SAPD arrested 24-year-old John Reeves III.

Reeves is accused of stabbing the woman, reportedly in her 20’s, in the neck and three times in her breast around 2:30 a.m.

In an apartment above Barringer’s BBQ Bar and Grill, police said Reeves barged in but ran off after another person intervened.

That man spoke with KENS 5, but wants to remain anonymous.

“It was violent and ugly,” he said.

Police said the woman knew Reeves but are unsure of their relationship. The woman is currently recovering in the hospital.

Reeves is charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and at last check, remains in the Bexar County Jail.

This is an ongoing investigation. When we have updates we will provide them on air and online.
