Loved ones say the woman was discharged as a homeless person from a local emergency room at 5 a.m., given a bus pass and sent on her way.
The family of 58-year-old Stephanie Troilo says she was last seen Tuesday morning leaving Northeast Baptist Hospital.
Stephanie’s brother, Chris, says with the colder temperatures we are seeing this week there is some concern for her safety and he feels the longer she is missing, the more vulnerable she becomes.
“I think she’s probably very confused. She takes medications on a daily basis, and particularly her seizure medication,” said Chris Troilo, Stephanie’s brother.
Chris says Stephanie likely suffered from a seizure on Monday and was taken to the emergency room.
When she arrived to the hospital, Chris says she was in a state of confusion and unsure of her whereabouts or identity.
“She was discharged from the emergency room, oddly at 5 a.m. and given a bus pass and sent on her way. That was actually the last we saw of her as she was discharged as a homeless person, even more strangely, from the Northeast Baptist Emergency Room,” he said.
On Wednesday, a missing persons report was filed with San Antonio Police, classifying her as endangered.
“She’s had some issues with mental instability and some issues with medical issues such as seizures,” said Chris.
Stephanie is 5’5”, weighing 185 pounds with hazel eyes and light brown hair. She’s described by her family as “resilient and tough.”
“She’s very talkative and very friendly, very outgoing, very gregarious and everything. She does make friends quite easily and is easy to talk to,” Chris said.
Stephanie’s family is hoping someone watching might be able to help them find her. They are just hopeful she’s able to identify herself. They are offering a $1,000 reward for information leading to her safe recovery.
“There’s no lead that’s too small or too vague, please reach out to us,” said Chris.
