
IDEA Mays charter school was evacuated due to unconfirmed threat; all are safe.
SAN ANTONIO — A local charter school was evacuated due to a bomb threat toward the campus.
Students and staff at IDEA Mays, off Loop 410 on the west side, were evacuated Thursday morning as a precautionary measure, the district said.
All students and staff are safe. Around 1:30 p.m., SAPD said everyone returned to the classroom.
Below is the full statement from SAPD:
“Officers were dispatched for a bomb threat made to the location. Officers made location and immediately began an investigation. SAPD Bomb Squad made the scene and determined the threat to be false. Students and faculty were evacuated as a precaution but returned to class. Officers will remain on scene as the investigation continues. Currently a suspect is unknown, but the false threat is currently under investigation.”
