IDEA Mays evacuated due to threat against campus, district officials say

IDEA Mays charter school evacuated due to unconfirmed threat; all are safe.

SAN ANTONIO — A local charter school was evacuated due to an “unconfirmed” threat toward the campus.

Students and staff at IDEA Mays, off Loop 410 on the west side, were evacuated Thursday morning as a precautionary measure, the district said. 

All students and staff are safe.

Below is the full statement from officials:

“IDEA Mays is aware of an unconfirmed threat made against the campus. Our students and staff have evacuated the building as a precautionary measure. We are working in collaboration with local law enforcement in the investigation. All students and staff are safe. We will continue to keep our families updated once school operations return to normal.”
