There will be free community forum to discuss its impact on local families Tuesday night.
The audience will gain knowledge on the dynamics of domestic violence. They will also learn about its consequences and ways to recover from it.
The event is being hosted by Impact San Antonio and will include a panel discussion with a number of local experts including President and CEO of Family Violence Prevention Services Marta Pelaez.
According to the Texas Council on Family Violence, 216 people were victims of family violence deaths in Texas in 2022. 12 make up men and women from Bexar County.
Harris County had the most victims, surpassing 50.
Organizers hope this forum will spread awareness on the dangers of domestic violence and help those possibly in a dangerous situation get connected to resources.
This panel is set for Tuesday night beginning at 6 p.m. and will be held at the UTSA downtown campus in the Buena Vista Building, which is located at 501 West Cesar Chavez Boulevard.
This is a free event but registration is required.
