Incense ignites north-side fire while family is out for movie night, according to officials

While seeing a movie, the family got an alert from their Blink home security system that there was smoke in their home.

SAN ANTONIO — A family who went out to a movie came home to a fire Thursday night, according to officials.

Officials were called to the 11400 block of Raindrop Drive just before 10 p.m. Friday.

They say the family who live there went to the movies and left some incense burning in some type of holder sitting on the tile floor. The holder then caught fire and filled the house with smoke, according to officials.

The family got an alert from their Blink home security system that there was smoke in the house.

Firefighters were called and arrived just before the family did.

The fire was eventually put out. No serious damage or injuries were reported.
