A procession in Captain Tony Fernandez’ honor will be held Saturday at noon, followed by his funeral at 2 p.m.
INGRAM, Texas — The Ingram Fire Department is saying goodbye to a beloved Fire Department Captain Saturday.
A procession will be held for Captain Tony Fernandez, “gave his life in service to his community.”
The department shared on Facebook that Captain Tony Fernandez has died, calling him a “brother whose absence leaves a hole that can never be filled. He was with Ingram VFD for 15 years, the post says.
“Due to the number of emergency vehicles expected to participate, we are asking all emergency apparatus to begin lining up around 11:30 a.m. at Grimes Funeral Chapels,” says a Facebook post from the Ingram Fire Department. “The procession will depart promptly at noon, escorting Captain Fernandez to First United Methodist Church on Thompson Drive.”

The department is asking people to line the route to pay tribute as he makes his way to the church.
Captain Fernandez’s funeral service will begin at 2:00 p.m. at First United Methodist Church on Thompson Drive.
Following the service, first responders will accompany him back to the funeral home.
You are once again invited to line the route back for his final ride, offering one last, silent salute to a man who gave everything.
“We don’t just bury a firefighter—we honor a hero,” says the Ingram Fire Department.
