SEATTLE — The injuries just keep piling up for the Houston Astros. On Saturday, the team’s home run leader and All-Star Isaac Paredes left the game with a hamstring injury.
It happened in the top of the third inning against Seattle as Paredes was running to first on a single. He started limping halfway between the batter’s box and first base.

According to Astros.com, Paredes will head back to Houston on Sunday for an MRI on the injury that manager Joe Espada said “doesn’t look very good.”
As for the game, the Astros lost to the Mariners, 7-6 in 11 innings. The loss reduced Houston’s American League West lead to just three games over over Seattle.
Paredes has been the Astros’ offensive leader this season, hitting .259 with 19 home runs and 50 RBIs. It’s another blow to an offense that’s been without Yordan Alvarez, Jeremy Peña, and Jake Meyers, who are all on the injured list.
If that wasn’t enough, another injured Astro – Brendan Rodgers – was hurt in his first rehab start since going on the injured list. Rodgers, who was playing for the Sugar Land Space Cowboys, collided with a teammate on a ground ball and suffered a concussion and broken nose.
