
According to SAPD, the victim, a woman in her 50s, told investigators that someone walked into her apartment and demanded her wallet.
SAN ANTONIO — A woman in her 50s was hospitalized Wednesday after being shot at a northwest-side apartment complex, according to the San Antonio Police Department.
SAPD said officers were dispatched to a shooting-in-progress call around 11:39 a.m. in the 5800 block of NW Loop 410. When officers arrived, they found a woman suffering from a gunshot wound to her leg.
Police said the victim told investigators that someone walked into her apartment and demanded her wallet. At some point during the encounter, she was shot.
The woman was taken to University Hospital with injuries that police said were not life-threatening.
According to SAPD, a person who was inside the apartment at the time of the shooting was detained. Police said that person is a family member of the woman who was shot.
No suspect has been identified and officers were searching the area for a possible shooter. SAPD said homicide investigators were also headed to the scene to assist with the investigation.
The incident remains under investigation and additional details were not immediately available.
