
A mass outage from Cloudflare appears to be impacting a wide range of internet services, including Google products, Amazon Web Services, Discord, Twitch, YouTube, OpenAI and many more.
The Cloudflare status page says that a “broad” outage is impacting variety of services, which follows the trend of user reports sent to DownDectector. The San Francisco-based company said it was looking into the outage at 1:19 p.m. Central Time with updates stating the investigation into the authentication failures continues.
The reports that services were down on the impacted apps saw a spike in reports around 1 p.m., according to DownDetector. Here is a look at the services impacted based on more than 1,000 user reports so far:
AI services like Character AI and OpenAI also saw a host of reports by users to DownDetector.
While Google is not powered by Cloudflare, the company “offers a comprehensive set of security and performance services, protecting Google Cloud-hosted Internet properties,” according to the Cloudflare website.
Google Cloud updated its status page with more information. At 2:09 p.m. CST, the company said that “engineers are continuing to mitigate the issue and we have confirmation that the issue is recovered in some locations.” An update will be shared at 12:45 PST/2:45 CST.
The status page noted they “do not have an ETA on full mitigation at this point.”
