Is President Trump going to Super Bowl 60? Here’s what he said.

The president attended last year’s Super Bowl in New Orleans and has been a frequent presence at major sporting events during his second term in office.

WASHINGTON — With Super Bowl 60 just a little over a week away, football fans are gearing up for a championship matchup between the New England Patriots and the Seattle Seahawks in the San Francisco Bay Area.

But one high-profile spectator who attended last year won’t be in attendance this time around.

Is President Trump going to the Super Bowl this year?

No. President Trump said he plans to skip Super Bowl 60, which will be played Feb. 8 at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California.

In an interview with the New York Post, Trump said the primary reason for his absence is the distance.

“It’s just too far away. I would. I’ve (gotten) great hands (at) the Super Bowl. They like me,” Trump said. “I would go if, you know, it was a little bit shorter.”

The president attended last year’s Super Bowl in New Orleans and has been a frequent presence at major sporting events during his second term, including UFC fights and the U.S. Open.

Trump also used the interview to criticize this year’s halftime show performer, Bad Bunny, and pre-show performer Green Day, both of whom have been vocal critics of the president.

“I’m anti-them. I think it’s a terrible choice. All it does is sow hatred. Terrible,” Trump said.

When is the Super Bowl?

Super Bowl 60 will kick off on Sunday, Feb. 8, at 6:30 p.m. Eastern time. Super Bowl 60 will be held at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California, home of the San Francisco 49ers. Fans can tune in on NBC, Telemundo, Peacock and Universo.
