‘It put a hole plumb through my heart’: Tennessee mother seeks answers after daughter fatally shot on San Antonio’s east side

Crime Stoppers is offering up to a $5,000 reward for information leading to an arrest in the murder case of 40-year-old Jacqueline Sisco

SAN ANTONIO — A Tennessee mother is pleading for answers after her 40-year-old daughter was fatally shot last year on San Antonio’s east side, as police announced new details in the case and a reward for information leading to an arrest.

The victim, identified by police as Jacqueline Sisco, was shot just after 5 a.m. on Nov. 6, 2025, near Center Street and East Commerce Street, according to the San Antonio Police Department.

Investigators said Sisco was getting out of a black car at the corner of Center Street and North Olive Street when someone inside the vehicle shot her in the back. She collapsed in front of a nearby home and was later pronounced dead.

“She didn’t even see it coming, and then the poor thing crawled up to somebody’s yard, you know, and laid there and died,” said Jacqueline Brown, Sisco’s mother.

Online jail records show Sisco had been released from jail the day before her death.

Her mother, Jacqueline Brown of Tennessee, said her daughters murder was a cowardly act, and the loss has devastated her family and left her searching for answers.

“There’s two things I want to know — why and who,” Brown said. “It put a hole plumb through my heart. It devastated me.”

Brown said her daughter moved from Austin to San Antonio about a year before the shooting and had struggled emotionally following the death of her 8-year-old son in a house fire.

“She just couldn’t get through that,” Brown said. “She was running from that pain.”

Authorities said the investigation remains ongoing. Crime Stoppers of San Antonio is offering up to a $5,000 reward for information leading to an arrest. Tipsters can remain anonymous.

Anyone with information is urged to contact police or Crime Stoppers at 210-224-STOP.
