‘It’s violating’ | Video catches man crawling towards SA woman’s apartment patio days after she says he filmed her changing

San Antonio Police are investigating the incident as invasive visual recording.

SAN ANTONIO — A suspected peeping tom was caught on camera, crawling towards a woman’s apartment patio.

The video was taken a week after the woman said the same man was filming her getting dressed.

It happened at a north side apartment complex off Huebner Road. We are not naming the complex for the resident’s safety.

However, Mikayla Suttles said she is not afraid to speak out about what happened.

“It’s violating,” Suttles said. “I mean I was recorded naked in my own home. Like who wants to go through that?”

Suttles said she moved to the complex with her boyfriend in January. She said on May 8, around 5 a.m., she was getting dressed in her living room to avoid waking up her boyfriend. She said her blinds were closed but not pulled all the way down.

Out of the corner of her eye, she noticed some movement on her patio.

“He stuck his selfie stick on my railing and was right up on my window with his phone so he was on the ground crouching over trying to get his selfie stick as close as he could to the window,” Suttles said.

Suttles said he then moved to her bedroom window. She then banged on the window to scare him away and called the police to file a report.

However, she did not have any evidence. So the next day, her boyfriend installed a video camera. Within a few days, she said the man started walking by her apartment. Then exactly a week later, was caught crawling towards her apartment.

“This man full got on the ground, army crawl on his stomach to try and get a video of me,” Suttles said.

Then later that same week, she caught him again coming towards her apartment but this time without a mask.

“He set the selfie stick down and put his arms up and lifted his leg like he was going to jump on my patio,” Suttles said. “The blinds were fully dropped that day so he couldn’t see even an inch.”

She said once he spotted the camera, he stopped and walked away.

“If he’s up at 5 in the morning trying to get a glimpse into people’s windows and hop on their patio just to get a glimpse or recording, what extent is he willing to go?” Suttles said.

Suttles said she has been in contact with the detective on the case but felt the community needed to know what was happening. Her family posted on social media. Since then, she said multiple women have contacted her, claiming they are also victims.

“He needs to get arrested is what needs to happen,” Suttles said.

San Antonio Police do have a copy of the videos but have not identified a suspect. Meanwhile, Suttles said she is trying to figure out if he lives at the complex. We did reach out to the property management but have not heard back.
