‘I’ve got two guns at my head’ | Rideshare driver says he was kidnapped at gunpoint by SA teen in alleged crime spree

A rideshare driver recounts his alleged kidnapping by two armed men who stole his vehicle in March.

SAN ANTONIO — A rideshare driver says two men kidnapped him, held him at gunpoint and stole his vehicle in late March.

On Sunday night, one of the alleged suspects, 17-year-old Jesse Trejo-Vasquez – was arrested on five warrants after a SWAT standoff.

Police say this happened on the 500 block of Trudell on the northwest side of San Antonio.

For three hours, the rideshare driver, whose identity will be protected – told KENS 5 he was handcuffed and thrown in the back of his car as the men drove around, demanding he find a way to get them money.

He says it all happened the night of March 27 with a client he’d serviced before.

That girl was nowhere in sight. The victim says instead, two men dressed in all black approached.

“I see the look in their eyes… This is a mad man,” he said.

An affidavit alleges 17-year-old Jesse Trejo-Vasquez was one of the suspects who handcuffed the victim, throwing him into the back of his rideshare car.

“I’ve got two guns at my head… Two guns against a guy handcuffed is not a fair fight.”

He says he knew not to fight back.

“He just whacks me with the butt of the pistol and I hear the skin break… I feel it [blood] running down my face,” he said.

The victim recalled hours of demands and multiple stops at gas stations.

Then, the two men allegedly went to his place of work and stole his belongings, along with two cars.

Come Sunday night, with five warrants for his arrest, police attempted to take Trejo-Vasquez in.

After an hours-long stand-off with SWAT and SAPD, the teen turned himself in.

This rideshare driver feels safer but knows the other man is still out there.
